Can’t play unranked play a friend matches on madden 25 or cfb 25.

I have a digital ps5. I purchased NCAA/madden deluxe package.  I can play online h2h modes on both games. However I cant play friends on either game.  The icon where the EA connect area would pop up does not even appear.  Whenever I click on play a friend; the games just glitch out and doesn’t allow me to press anything else.  Cross play is enabled. But it won’t even allow me to search for other players to even potentially send a game invite. I have reached out to EA twice and they have given me no answers.   I was frustratedly ok with not playing friends on cfb, but once I saw madden is doing the same exact thing, I must figure this thing out.  It’s very strange.  I went back to madden 24 just to see if it would still allow me to play friends on that game; and it does.  I also have deleted cfb twice just to see if I needed to redownload it. And that did nothing. So this is just an issue with the new cfb/madden games. The primary issue seems to be that my EA connect icon is not even appearing in either game. Anyone have any thoughts?
