Ratings aren't mattering for CPU

The CPU accuracy is not working properly.  There are no off target throws even at lower rated QB's for the CPU.  For the User, it's perfect, but when playing the CPU every pass is a on target pass.  They just do not miss.  Everything is a catchable pass.

i have tested this.  i took Penix down to 1 Accuracy in SAC, MAC, DAC.  I didn't play with any abilities.  Penix wound up only missing 4 passes.  Only 4 of the 23 passes he threw were bad passes (uncatchable).  This is a 83% on target pass percentage.  This is at 1 for the player! Penix has an overral on target percentage of 67%  last year.  With 1 accuracy we should be balls sailing all over and we just don't see that.  Madden (and CFB) CPU is not taking in the player ratings when we play against them.

Please test this out for yourself.  This needs to be fixed.

  • Do u have SS abilities on? I play all-pro cpu vs cpu with SS abilities off and I watched all 16 week 1 games and averaged out the QB stats and league average completion percentage was 66.77. I have QB accuracy set to 36 and WR catching set to 54. I find that leaving SS abilities ON makes the cpu QB OP. Hope this helps.

    No, i dont like abilities in my game so i always turn them off. Cpu vs cpu may be a different experience, idk. From what i know from the community manager here, it's a known issue that players are not playing to their rating and EA was already working to fix when i mentioned it. I tried  sliders and adjust the actual ratings on the player to 1 accuracy and it didnt really help much when playing against the CPU. He was just throwing dots all over the field, even at 1 acc. Tried slider to 0 and still was on target. ?? It's a coding thing that a slider wont fix. Maybe a user vs cpu issue.

    This is literally why players say the game feels scripted. They literally said on their deep dive they did whatever to make it feel less scripted, but here we are.

  • Literally rage quit my franchise on all madden 4 games in after Bryce young went 21 of 24. Switched to all pro. First game against the bucs, Baker goes for 158 passer rating. This is game breaking especially for someone like me who isnt good at this game

    this problem still has not been fixed and ea ignores it.  i play all pro and every quarterback i’ve faced has on thrown one or to incompletion in a game no matter who qb is. it seems like ea doesn’t want to fix this. ea says ratings matter, Game playing like this , ratings don’t matter, ea, you need to fix this problem, i am a sim offline and it plays like a arcade game.  it was playing a little better before last title update.   

    Iwanna see lower rated qbs overthrowing the ball,  that rarely happens now.

    I found a small work around in All Pro. Lower wr catch to 25, go in and change all QB's, WR's and TE's abilities off (change to Star Dev) hut keep all other abilities on as defense needs help, cap off all TUP ratings for QB's to 80(if they are over 80 then reduce to 80 all other leave alone and change/monitor after each game. Will have only a few to reduce back to 80 each week.) And lastly tune QB acc down to 40. They will even miss dump off passes time and again. I also turn off progression at 26 so older QB's dobt get super inflated. Reduce QB XP to 20 cause its waaaay overpowered. Coaching abilities may alter the ratings for TUP as well. It may say 84 but the rating on the player says like 79. Reduce the 79 to 75 so he will have 80 that game w the fake boosts they get. Wish we could turn that crap off.

    Lower TUP will cause more passing inaccuracies when you get a rusher close. Helps CPU make more bad passes under pressure. Makes lower qb's feel like lower and higher not so overpowered. Stamina also should effect how long a player plays to his full potential. I'm working on capping those to 80. Those will never change the whole season.

    Give it a try. See if it helps you ease some pain. First part may take about an hour or so, but, maintaining weekly wont. 

    I also reduced my passing acc and catch to 45. Player felt a bit overpowered.
