Unable to start a second Superstar Career or change my gear

So after playing my first season of superstar mode as a QB I decided I wanted to give another position a go. Whenever I press switch character to start a new career I have an attention message constantly flashing on my screen forcing me to restart the game. I was frustrated but didn't know what to do so I continued my QB career. That was until I unlocked a Jordan sponsorship and went to change my gear and discovered whenever I pressed change gear, an error message popped up. The only way I can view my gear is through the live events section however even then I can change almost nothing. Does anyone have any solutions, I've tried the basics like redownloading the game but it still wont work.
