It should be totally embarrassingly for them at this stage.  Like you said, total disgrace.

While I doubt this will actually result in something productive, I'm going to EA_Kent​ on this thread since he is the only EA employee who has touched on this subject...

If there is no app for this game anymore, I personally won't be returning next year for sure. I work a lot, and it's the only way I have a chance to keep up throughout the season.  It 100% is embarrassing to not even acknowledge it.

Not only does the app itself have a terrible UI and bugs that go unfixed for years, but they also release it every madden a month late. The app's functionality isn't exactly rocket science! I strongly believe a team of freelancers could whip up an MVP in 3 sprints that would be way better and cheaper than what EA's developers are doing.

The NO communication if there even will be a Companion App this year is crazy. EA always EA'ing.

No communication on Companion App but I’d put money on Legends being dropped Saturday! Unless it disrupts revenue it’s not a priority, so I’ve decided to not purchase another drop / pack until info on a date or release of the Companion App. 

EA does not care what you think, only that you gave them money.

Buy some more addons, buy cards, buy buy buy. 

Otherwise, don't bother them, they are counting our money and laughing at us for being saps again this year.

What a joke. What's the harm in making the announcement that it's not coming this year. 

Sadly going to be my last madden, didn't realize how strong the P2W aspect of ultimate team was going to be this year. The companion app was one of the only redeeming qualities for NMS player.

Can't even be surprised, why make the app if there won't be any direct revenue coming from it. Also forces people to play the game itself more. Shameful by EA but unfortuntely nothing new. 

I AGREE. I DONT EVEN PLAY THE CRAPPY MUT SIDE OF THE GAME ANYMORE AND THE P2W ASPECT IS SO AWFUL, I WISH MUT AND CFM WERE TWO SEPERATE GAMES SO PPL COULD PLAY WHAT THEY PAY FOR.... BUT WITH OUT THE COMPANION APP THEN CFM ISNT EVEN WORHT THE MONEY I PAID FOR THE GAME EITHER SO...IF NO COMPANION APP THEN I WONT BE GETTING ANOTHER MADDEN MY SELF EITHER... THIS LONG RUNNING FRANCHISE WILL COME TO A HALT. 

I was on the fence about getting this game to begin with. But now it has sealed the deal. No more madden in my future. 

We have been running a 24 user team franchise since 2014. The companion app is how we make it so guys in California can play with guys from the east coast and some of our military guys due to scheduling. We can auto pilot and advance right from the app. Not having a companion app cripples our franchise without a doubt, and we are looking at the collapse of something we have been running for over a decade. 

The app had its flaws, a lot of them, but it was vital. Might be time to move on from EA products since its all about money and they don't seem to have their customers interest in mind EVER!
