Game doesn't allow me to save? Madden 26 (steam, PC)

My first issue is on normal franchise mode offline it won't allow me to save saying "File operation" "File save failed" I deleted and redownloaded the game but that didn't help either and I don't know what else would fix it.

My second issue is... If I quit the game and come back it acts as if I have never played before and takes me through the settings set up and pick your team things everytime... 

I am assuming these are linked but haven't seen a fix anywhere
