Forum Discussion
Hey, @Zinch42
Thanks for reaching out and this is a great topic to get some feedback from others in the community on. Details from others like what specific opponents this season (for each week) have been difficult and tips like what plays are most effective for the user's offense against these teams can be a helpful resource too. I've seen more conversations about this in our NHL forums than Madden so this is the first one in a while get brought up here. Then again, we are later in the year so I am not anticipating the volume of discussions here like we have around the launch of the game. Hopefully others can chime in on their experiences so we can forward it to the development team to review on how they can make this mode more enjoyable.
I want to get to the hurry up offense with the subject around DDA. It doesn't exist in our sports games in a way that will manipulate outcomes. This has been proven and our official statement can be read on it here.
There hasn't been any specific changes to the gameplay itself for that mode which would impact difficulty. When you get deeper into the MUT season with higher rated players, it will make sense that the lower difficulty teams will feel harder to play because the OVR from the Community picked teams are getting better. With higher overall items, they are quicker on the field and we tend to see the linebackers become more dominant at the end of the season.
That's the most logical explanation. There are no individual account settings that will impact gameplay.
More importantly, your response suggests a degree of ignorance about the OVRs of the teams in the Solo Battles--or at least in the way that I currently understand the OVR rating system.
As I understand it, a 72 OVR team should be comprised of cards that average out to a 72 OVR team. So, while they might have a high card or two, the team would average out to a 72. Conversely, my team has, on average, a team comprised of 98 OVR players. It's a big difference--or it should be.
So, today, when I played a 72 OVR team on the Legend difficulty, the competitive difficulty of playing against that team should be roughly comparable to a 72 OVR team that I played on the Legend difficulty weeks ago--or even months ago. In fact, because my own team continues to get better over the course of the MUT season it should gradually feel easier to play against teams of comparable OVRs on the Legend difficulty setting. Yet, when I play it does not feel that way. A 72 OVR on Legend difficulty today should have difficulty comparable to a 72 OVR on legend difficulty at any other time of the year. Instead, the difficulty seems to fluctuate--sometimes wildly.
What you're talking about is a 90 OVR team versus a 72 OVR team. Yes, a 90 OVR team will have stronger players on it than a 72 OVR team.
So, as I understand the OVR rating system, your explanation does not hold up.

today i have played against the 87 ovr team. opponents defense: cb1 86, cb2 85, cb3 80 / my receivers:99,99,98 all have 98+ speed. there is no way that a 85er corner can catch a 99 receiver, except in solo battles...
Offense Example:
my qb is 99 randall cunningham. sometimes he is not throwing an inaccurate pass in the direction of the receiver. no, he throws an absolute accurate pass to the defender! in this case the intended receiver is also not doing a single thing to go for the ball. he is not even looking for the ball.
Defense Example:
i play mid blitz, which means corner and safeties playin m2m. sometimes one of them is blitzing for no reason which ends in a completely free receiver. happen today on the 1st play of the ai. boom. 82 yds td.
these are the moments were we think the difficulty was changed to ultimate legend and there is something not correct inside the ai...

What difficulty are you selecting? That impacts the game.
Increasing it to Legend will change the difficulty to All-Madden and the Game Style to Competitive. The AI will play better.- satfreaktom2644 years agoHero
i think most of us playin this late in the madden season at legend difficulty.

but how can this mean that an ai defender with 82 speed runs as fast as my receivers with 99 speed?

I don't know the exact dynamics of what is impacted but it will allow the team to play competitively in order to keep pace. Otherwise those matchups would feel like a waste of time if you had to login to throw hail marys for easy TDs each time? There wouldn't be any point of having those games for players. It would feel unnecessary?
