In my experience, all the players who aren't ranked consistently use broken play styles and exploit the same plays over and over again. Additionally, players who aren't ranked consistently make ridiculous calls such as going for it on 4th down in the first three quarters, using unrealistic defenses such as quarters for most of the game, and do things like take timeouts when they have already won the game. Given all this, I would suspect you aren't playing football but rather "let's try to break the game." Stop doing that. Have a nice day. 🙂
(You will see my record in the attached screenshot posted on the left compared with a player who did all the things I just described on the right. If he hadn't disqualified himself by his play style, he would most likely be ranked somewhere around #25,000.)
I have to disagree. I play the same style on both of my accounts and only one shows a rank. Unlike most people I play, I play a pretty realistic style. I punt, I kick field goals, I rarely go for 2, I never OS kick. I do only use about 4 different formations each on offense and defense and about 20 different plays, but I don't think that should keep me from being ranked.

Any system, especially one so complex, will have flaws. I have played for years and this is my experience. Every time I play someone who does what I described, 9 out of 10 times they are not ranked. I've played for years and always been ranked, consistently as high as top 5% as late as Madden 16.
20 different plays is fine. It's a short game. The guy I just played ran 2 plays.

Yeah, I'm on Madden 17. Skipped 15 and 16 but on 25 I never had a problem. Check out this thread to see what's currently going on. http://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Madden-17-no-ranking-score/m-p/5665043#U5665043
