PLAY NOW/EXHIBITION play modes wont allow to use injured players

How do I use injured players in my exhibition modes? I've turned off my pre-existing injuries in the franchise mode, but still have the same problem. This is for madden 18 for ps4 by the way.

I actually called them to attempt to resolve this. I was told that to make the game more "realistic", they actually thought this was a good idea, and cannot be changed. So, if your favorite player gets hurt, and you want to use them, you're out of luck. I won't continue to complaain about this seeing as they don't care anyway. They've lost a customer, and I have returned the game.

Come on, this is ridiculous! Who actually thinks this is a good idea?! I understand the appeal of wanting to play with the current lineups, injuries and all, but sometimes we want to play with the "original" rosters as they were at the beginning of the season at least! Please fix this!
