Re: MADDEN 22 PS5 won't start, can't even get to the menu. Code: CE-108255-1

Hi, @Crunne 

I'll help you out here. We'll need to know what type of setup you're working with, what steps you've tried, and some other random questions that could be playing a factor.

  1.  Do you have anything plugged into the console's USB slots?
  2. Do you use an external hard drive for your PS5 at all (whether for Madden or not)?
  3. When did this start happening? Were you ever able to play the game normally before?
  4. Do you use an extension cord or surge protector for your PS5?
  5. When you visit your cloud and local saves (for all games), do you see any Madden files that are corrupted or located in a different game save folder?
  6. Do you have facial recognition for your PS5 disabled?
  7. Have you tried power cycling your console?
  8. Have you tried re-installing the game?
  9. Have you tried the PS5 steps for that error code? https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/error-codes/ps5/ce-108255-1/ 
  10. Does your PS5 feel hot when it shuts off? Does it have enough ventilation and is in an open space?
  11. How many PlayStation friends do you have?
  12. If you Shareplay your game to another PSN ID on your console, does it allow you to play on a different PSN account to determine if this is account related?

    5. When you visit your cloud and local saves (for all games), do you see any Madden files that are corrupted or located in a different game save folder? IT JUST SHOWS NORMAL SAVED DATA
    6. Do you have facial recognition for your PS5 disabled? YES 
    7. Have you tried power cycling your console? YES IVE REBOOTED AND UNPLUG EVERYTHING AND RESTARTED 
    8. Have you tried re-installing the game? NO THATS KIND OF A PAIN IN THE * 
    9. Have you tried the PS5 steps for that error code? https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/error-codes/ps5/ce-108255-1/  YES STILL DIDN'T WORK
    10. Does your PS5 feel hot when it shuts off? Does it have enough ventilation and is in an open space? YEAH IVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS OR ANY OTHER GAME BEFORE 
    11. How many PlayStation friends do you have? LIKE 10 
    12. If you Shareplay your game to another PSN ID on your console, does it allow you to play on a different PSN account to determine if this is account related? NEVER SHARE PLAY

    @Crunne 

    Would you be able to disable facial recognition? There are various articles online how that has been known to cause some crashes in games, interesting to see if that could be a factor here next time you load it up. I know re-installing games is not ideal and can take time to do, if facia recognition disabled does not help I must advise re-installing the game when you have some time away from the console. Files could have been corrupted that lead to the error. 

    The reason I asked about how many friends you have is because some players have been able to get around crashes by removing all the friends and then re-adding them. I can't explain the exact reason why this works but it was reported by some players on the forums with others confirming it helped. It is usually related to people that have 100+ friends though.

    I said I DONT have facial recognition, who the hell has that for PlayStation lol. And I never even play online, I have like 10 friends probably not even that many. I only play single player games by myself.

    Ah, sorry. I misread by seeing YES when I went down the list but wrote disabled on the question.

    Would you be able to try re-installing the game to see if that results in the same scenario?

    @Crunne 

    Thank you. I don't think it would hurt to power cycle your console after uninstalling the game before you re-install it again. Rebooting the network can help clear up any potential hiccups that are in the current connection with our EA servers. There might not be anything wrong with your overall connection, but the link to our servers could be off leading to corrupted updates. So refreshing it can at least help rule that issue out.

    Reboot the power to the modem/router

    1. Unplug the power cable from your modem/router for 5-10 minutes to refresh the network.

    How to power cycle your PlayStation console

    1. Touch the power button on the front of the PS4/5 for at least 7 seconds (until the system beeps twice).
    2. Turn it back on after 5 minutes. Launch the game.

    Sorry for the delay, so I tried everything, deleted all my files, saved files, uninstalled the game, I rebooted the router and turned on the PS5 as you specified. And reinstalled the game and it still goes to the main screen, hit any button, it gets to the loading says "loading cleats" and freezes and shuts off and goes to the "Report" screen on playstation

    I just got back in from the weekend. 

    I take it you've tried deleting all your friends to see if that was a factor. Do you happen to have a custom profile image for your PSN profile? We've seen custom images resulting to crashes for some of our games.
