You can't purchase NAT items from the auction house. It stands for Non-Auctionable/Tradeable. 

When items are altered after being purchased from the Auction House, they will become NAT. To allow them to be re-auctioned or traded, the item must have it's upgrades removed and downgraded to the original item. This way players are purchasing items without any upgrades to give items consistency on the market. 

If you want to drop a screenshot in here of the item's upgrade section that you have I can take a look, but I'm 99% sure something is being overlooked here. Unless this was a NAT item you opened up from a pack or earned from a challenge that you mistakenly think was purchased from the auction house.
