What Madden games are still available for online franchise on PS3?

I have had Madden 15 online franchise alive for many years with some buddies. Found out today that the problems we have had in the last week are due to the game being taken off the servers in December. We all are waiting to buy the PS5 mid next year. I called EA and they said that Madden 16 is the only game on PS3 where You can still play online, but everything I read says that 16 is dead too. Wondering if 17 is still working on the servers for PS3? Or if 16 will work? Any info from anyone?
