- KWRussell4 years agoRising Traveler@CBlan1224 It’s not two different engines, it’s all Frostbite. An engine that every non-sports division of EA has used to deliver next-gen experiences on PC.
- @KWRussell Yep exactly. It's been Frostbite 3 for a very long time and still is with Madden 23 no matter what platform it's on. This whole situation is complete BS but we don't need to misrepresent the truth in order to make this obvious.
- @KWRussell you're right it must've been something about the physics engine I was reading and my imagination took it from there. Hey, it's all we have to go on, after all.
But seriously, that makes it make even less sense. If madden truly is scalable and they have 2 entirely different games instead of scaling it.
It should be scaled well above console. 1. why is pc not getting next gen? it makes no sense to me as EA had a year to “focus on new consoles.”
2. If we are not getting next gen at least at launch, is there even a possibility pc will get it at all this year?
PC gamers are not sports gamers , they mostly play shooters and RPGs, so it doesn't make any financial sense to port the avanced version of the game
PC sports gamers are there, trust. The discord populations alone would tell you that much. Believe it or not a lot of them love franchise and such. That's why football manager and games of that nature are a hit on PC. PC is just more into scenarios and randomization. No 2 seasons should be the same in terms of injuries, player reactions. Madden however puts out the same game every year. There's no customization that differs from last year, and the new scenarios will have no real affect on the game. There's only scheming. The gameplay is there on the system locked newer gen games, but that's honestly going to be old to PC gamers within the next 2 years. Games like maximum football are going to flourish because that game will have everything PC wants, even if it doesn't play well. The management/customization will be there, that's all it's going to take.
1. PC is not getting next gen this year because EA either doesn't have the work force and EA sports is at the bottom of the list when it comes to how they allocate it, or they see PC as non profitable, which it will be if you put a 10 year old game out on the market which they've been doing since Maddens return on PC.
2. We will not get it half way through the year sad to say because we're past any beta testing phase, which is needed to optimize it for PC. Unless they optimize it in October for a December release, it's not going to happen. They've stone walled any questions or talk of PC even in marketing.
The only reason they made the changes they did this year in terms of gameplay is because games like maximum football are coming out and 2k has a game in the works. This company is terrible even on a large scale. They show minimum work when they have 0 competition and even when they do have competition, shaft a whole community of gamers. Being the most profitable company in gaming you'd think they use some of that money to make a good game.
EDIT: I know I'm some random, but You'll get worked around by EA on this. There's a whole 12 page conversation where not even the community managers are getting answers. This is an EA approved 'solution'.- @c1852qti9pvx it is not 2012. Pc is the fastest growing platform. Over 50% of all gamers.are on PC.
Your statement is misguided, and untrue. - jimmarshall4 years agoSeasoned Ace@c1852qti9pvx you have NO IDEA what PC gamers are, and that is evident by this statement.
I think the worst part of this whole thing is how EA is okay with gaslighting a whole community, like we're not going to ask the same exact question next year. We've been doing for the past 3 years.
