I did not see this bug for a while now (maybe just because I did go back to the menu more often and did not play longer series of Solo Challenges in a row). but the bug returned in the 5th challenge of the 'Mr Grouch is comin' to town'.
I've just seen that a player reported this bug to occur in Solo Battles (Just played a game of Solo Battles and all my abilities are missing from the game — EA Forums).
I've often stated already that I think that rewards for Solo Battles should not be linked to a leaderboard. the leaderboard is so heavily affected by DNFs and bugs that I cannot see any fairness in it.
and since DNFs and bugs are so widespread in this game, I'd really prefer to transform Solo Battles in one-game-events where it only matters to win the game. if you are able to win the game, you are rewarded a pack. and your skills score could be converted to coins. that would alleviate the DNF problem somewhat since if you face a DNF only this one game (but not the whole week) is affected.

happens to me again when playing the weekly 50 challenges. played all 6 in a row and in the last game x-factors and abilities are gone.

just finished both series of Solo Challenges in the 'NFL Playoffs Celebration' promo. this bug occured twice. first, it was in the 'Washington' game, and second in the 'Broncos' challenge. since I did not go back to the menu after completing the 'Broncos' challenge, I had in total 3 (of 25) games without x-factors and abilities.
I still did not recognize any pattern that might cause this bug.

I'm now quite convinced that the pre-game loading process has some issues. not only regarding the x-factors/abilities. I've seen 1) players with different OVRs across games (although nothing has changed), 2) missing x-factors and abilities, 3) my Randy Moss (showing Speed = 100 if he is uncovered in some games) has a -2 speed disadvantage compared to his CB (with zero fatigueness at the first play of drives), 4) passing accuracy of my QB (with pocket deadeye ability) is horrible in some games (e.g. completely overthrown and therefore uncatchable passes, although the screen says: 'pocket deadeye')...
I'd guess there is a relationale database structure (i.e. a separate datasheet for attributes of players, chemistries, x-factors and abilities, etc. respectively, which are linked via IDs). for me, there seems to be an incorrect calculation in gathering the data from these various datasheet and aggregating them (i.e. loading them into the game). that's why e.g. the OVR or speed (or any other attributes) may vary from game to game, and why x-factors or abilities are missing sometimes (or are shown on the screen but not included in the relevant data loaded for the game) .... - satfreaktom2645 years agoHero
to 4) i also have pocket deadeye on j.m., but sometimes it seems that he completely confound receiver and defender and throws directly to the defender...
- Neo_Novalis5 years agoHero+@satfreaktom264 that's exactly what I've experienced. in particular, when he throws out of sack it is literally every second time that it goes directly into the arms of a defender who is not even required to move to do the INT... I'm absolutely convinced now that the loading process before the game is broken, and this does not only hold for Solo Challenges, but also Solo Battles, H2H, .... It is completely clear to me now after observing so many games where either the x-factors and abilities completely disappear (in Solo Challenges, as described in this thread), the abilities appear but do not work (e.g. my pocket deadeye Joe Montana completely misses his targets in a row within single games, without being pressured, while in others it works fine; or my HB Barry Sanders does not do any special Juke Moves (which causes this special sound if the ability is active), nor does Randy Moss completes any aggressive catch against single coverage). furthermore, the attributes shown pre-snap vary and sometimes my full speed 99 Randy Moss has a speed disadvantage of -2 or -1 (the highest value I've seen was -5?!?) relative to the CB who is covering him (on the first play with full stamina). the same holds for my 99 speed Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson...
this loading code seems to be a complete mess....
by the way: it feels so great (sarcasm!) when my 99 MCV Deion Sanders or Rod Woodson are continuously beaten by bronze (!) WRs and TEs (and there abilities obviously do not work either). this just happened to me. my opponent seemed to be a good player who has just started playing MUT this year, but someone has to explain to me what the point is of investing in better players when a 99 OVR CB is constantly getting beat by a 61 WR in a game?!? and no, I'm not completely inexperienced in the game and know how to react when that happens sometimes. but it's just ridiculous when absolutely every play at least 2 of your DBs just get screwed....

just reached the next level of frustration in terms of missing x-factors and abilities: it just happened in Solo Battles too. the most weird thing is that I had 3 players on offense (WR Moss, HB Sanders and QB Montana) with their full set of abilities and x-factors and my opponent's QB Allen also had his ability active. but neither my LT Trent Williams nor any of my defense players nor the two CBs of my opponent (Deion Sanders and Aeneas Williams who both show an ability in the lineup) was listed in the x-factors/abilities menu during the game (they did not show up on the field as well).
since I experienced some weird things regarding x-factors and abilities in previous Solo Battle games, Solo Challenges but also H2H House Rules or Seasons games (in these cases the abilities and x-factors seemed to be active, i.e. the "x"s and stars were shown on the field) but the players obviously did not have the abilities (e.g. Barry Sanders does different moves (incl sound) if his juke ability is active; or Joe Montana threw inaccurate passes although his deadeye ability seemed to be there; and the pass was assessed "deadeye. bullet pass", for instance).
from my perspective, I'm convinced that the loading process before the game is not stable. one more reason why I think that rewards should not be based on a leaderboard in a Solo mode since it is just a lottery whether a player faces a DNF or his/her superstar abilities are correctly loaded, etc. (besides the fact that the leaderboard incentivizes players to find the best ways to trick the AI and find the most useful glitch plays... not sure why the MUT team should be interested in providing these incentives because these incentives help to mercilessly expose the weaknesses of the game....)
