Internet connection down, Mass Effect 3 must be re-activated in order to play

I have a copy of Mass Effect 3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition in my Origin library which, along with ME 1 and 2, I have played and beaten many times, because I’m a serious fan of the trilogy.

My internet connection is temporarily down because about a week ago someone doing work on my building cut my cable line. It’ll be fixed in a few days when a technician gets out here.

In the meantime, however, I assumed I’d be able to play my Mass Effect games offline. The trouble is while the other two work fine, Origin is insisting that I have to activate Mass Effect 3 (as if it’s a new game that I haven’t played and beaten dozens of times already) which of course can only be done with an internet connection. Can someone tell me why Origin thinks the game is new and how I can bypass this problem in order to play the game again? After all Origin says our games are supposed to have offline playability. What gives?
