Mass Effect 1 Inventory Says its full but when I check it it does NOT have 150 items

I have played through this game twice - the first time I did not have this problem, but now I do.

My inventory has constantly been saying it is "close" to 150, but I check it and I have the exact minimum amount of items possible: every character has armor and the required weapons, I only have upgrades on my 3 playable character weapons and armor, and I have NOTHING extra in my inventory.  I have checked all the of the possible "upgrades"/add-ons for each and every weapon and armor and have removed them all.  I literally have the bare minimum in my inventory, but I am not getting "inventory at max 150" messages, and I can no longer pick up ANY items even tho there is basically NOTHING IN MY INVENTORY!

Will someone please help?  I cannot find the answer to this question anywhere else online, and I have been looking for hours.

  • When you go to a "store" in the game does anything besides equipped items show up? I've never heard of this bug, but that may be one way to check to see if you accidently missed checking an inventory subsection. It's been a while since I've played, but can you check inventory in slots your squadmates can't use? For instance, if no one in your party is tech, would youstill be able to look at the omnitools section?

  • Are you checking every section of your inventory? For example, are you checking the grenade mods, the weapon mods AND the armor mods rather than just the items themselves?

  • What platform is this on?

    If you're on PC, you could fix this by editing an ini file. You could change the value of max items allowed.

    The config file you need is BIOParty.ini . The values show as follows:

    [BIOC_Base.BioPlayerSquad]

    m_nMaxInventoryItems=150

    m_nMaxInventoryWarningThreshold=135

    The first line shows the value of items you can carry. The second lines shows the amount of items you can carry before the warning pops up. See if the problem persists if you change the value of max amount of items to something ridiculously high. (If you're on PC, at least.)
