Mass effect 2 le mining the canyon can’t be completed

Hello all! I’m currently playing through mass effect 2 legendary edition and I’m on the mission mining the canyon. When the mech shoots the first wall he keeps shooting it and faces it when he walks ...

I had the same problem, but the mech did end up making it to the resources.  I think the power cells are set to be depleted at certain stages during the mission and not on the timer depleting.  But yeah, it does need fixing.
