Mass Effect: Andromeda missing online access

I'm unable to connect to the online features of Mass Effect: Andromeda, which I purchased on Steam. Whenever I try to connect, I receive the following error message: "You are not allowed to access the online features of this game."

My internet connection is working fine. I have also followed the instructions on the EA website and verified that my EA and Steam accounts are properly linked. Everything seems to be in order. Previously I've owned the game through EA subscription, heard this can be an issue, but EA advisor didn't find any issues with that and right now I can't even start another chat, because button is greyed out

    Hi there,

When transitioning from an EA Play subscription version of a game to an owned Steam copy, leftover license files and cached registry entries from the subscription can sometimes stick around and block online access.

A standard uninstall through Windows or Steam often leaves these traces behind. The best way to resolve this is to perform a clean wipe of the game files using a tool like Revo Uninstaller, but make sure to back up your local saves first so you don't lose any campaign progress [file location: Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Andromeda].

Please give that a try and then reinstall the game. Let us know if you have any further questions.

You would need to contact a adviser at EA help

Gladly, if only I had the chance to start a chat with the assistant 🙃
I was able to talk to an advisor once, but he wasn't able to help, after that, the case was closed, and it seems there's no way to open a new one

  • So, I was able to create a chat with support once, using browser incognito mode, but none of the advisors joined it. And now I can't create one again

    🤡🤡🤡🤡

  • I managed to reach an advisor using a different account, but they claim that there is no activity related to *Mass Effect Andromeda* on my EA account, even though I can clearly see the game in my library. Also, I renewed my EA Play subscription for testing purposes, but I'm still getting the “Missing Online Access” error.

Hey LovableHarp, what the advisor would do to help you here is check the account for previous entitlements, disable them so there's no conflict, and then you could reinstall the game and get it to work with the current entitlements you have. If they have already checked and there are no other entitlements on the account that might be conflicting with the current game, then please try the workaround I've mentioned in my previous reply:

  • No, that didn't help
As holger1405 mentioned above, I need the EA Advisor to regrant entitlement, but I have a feeling I've been banned from EA Help, since I keep getting the message “This issue isn't supported by advisors” no matter which category I choose.

I managed to get into the chat using a different new account, but there they claim they don’t see any activity related to Mass Effect Andromeda on that account, even though I was literally playing the game during the conversation.

If you have logged in with a new account they could not see anything related to Andromeda because the game is bound to your other account.
If you renewed your EA play subscription on your old account, try this:

     Clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste:  "%temp%"  (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
(If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

    Then:

    • Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller. (The freeware version, Portable version works too.)
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall EA app.
    • At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Advance" > Browse.
    • If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
    • When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All > Delete.
    • Restart the PC
    • Download a new EA app setup exe from here. (Do it even if you already have the installer!)
    • Install EA app.
    • repair the game.
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

    • Test the game.

(If you added EA play to your new account you need to deinstall the game and reinstall it on your new account. Any MP progress would be gone. )
