There are some hiccups between EA app and Stream that are not fully fixed yet.
If you downloaded this version directly from EA you are save and there is nothing to do itm.
It's exactly the same file version I have now.
Do u have estimation from EA when that issue will be fixed?
Is any other games that are affected by the same issue?

No, I have no insides about this.
There are some issues for older games and between third party launchers and EA app but, not exactly the same problem.
It is also hard to say how much of this problems exists do to specific configurations on the end user system.
But as long as Origin works, there is no disadvantage in using it.
I have the same or similar issue (the error message is that Windows does not recognize what app to launch the game with) since the jan-18th after an update was installed so you're not alone 🙂
I only got the update notice today and had not idea that I shouldn’t install it. Now it won’t launch at all. It’s on my Steamdeck and I’m having trouble using desktop mode to try to reinstall Origin or whatever might work. 😥
So now we are all fooled again by EA, Origin officially stopped to work, and MELE isn't woks with EA app as expected. Was never asking for any EA/Origin or any other app which isn't related to the actual game I bought. If that is bad experience, definitely it is, if I will bought something from EA is the future, it's a big NO. It's a reoccurring issue, happen at huge number of customers, which isn't tread at all. First rule for each developer, don't broke something that worked, old satisficed customer will return, but u did it.
