Mass Effect will no longer open

I purchased Mass Effect from steam during the summer sale, and then about a week ago it crashed. Which isn't a big deal, just a ton of **bleep** my computer couldn't handle at the time. But now I have a new graphics card and power supply.

Anyway, ever since I installed my new parts, I haven't been able to open Mass Effect. I've verified the game cache and what not but I still have the same problem.

What happens: Mass Effect will open the program, I know this because I can see the program open on task manager, and then it'll immediately disappear. I'm not devoted to my save data, so any option that works is fine. I just want to play it more on higher quality settings.
