Mass Effect won't work on Windows 10, help!?

I have windows 10 and just bought the eclipse supernova so the spec is more than enough to run this game. I have tried the compatibility mode in xp and ran as administrator and it still says after pressing play from the shortcut that the "mass effect configuration utlitiy has stopped working" Any ideas?
