ME Legendary on EA App will not recognize a controller

Hello,

I have repaired the game, tried running it as a non Steam game through Steam, tried a wired and bluetooth controller, tried using KB+M until in the games main menu, enabled and disabled the EA overlay, confirmed the controller works on other games, tried a different controller, tried DS4 windows, closing Steam from the task manager and closing DS4 windows from the task manager, every troubleshooting guide online I could find, I tried. The game will not accept any input from a controller. 

What further solutions are there? Or should I just give up on this franchise?
