ME3 (LE) Not Launching

I'm over halfway through ME3 on Origin and it suddenly won't launch; it goes to the splash screen then goes black and back to the opening screen.

I've tried repairing the game multiple times but it hasn't worked.

    • Make sure Origin and Steam are closed.
    • Go to your "<drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME3\BioGame" folder.
      (Steam: <drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME3\BioGame" )
    • Delete the "Config" folder.
    • Test.

    If that don't helps:

    • Make sure Origin or/and Steam are closed.
    • Go to your "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save" folder.
    • Move the "ME3" Save folder to your Desktop,
    • Test.

Please look at this post for possible solutions.

If nothing in there helps, create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

  • @gracejeanetteIt is possible that an updated driver does not work how it should you can try to find if there is a problem with this, is a free and easy app that helped me a lot. It is easy to use just install, launch and press the play button after that just play a game so the pc uses all resources audio/video... and if there is a problem it will show up here.

    @gracejeanette

That is good to hear. 🙂

Note that most probably not all saves are defective.

It is likely that one of the last saves that were made are at fault.

Like the subject says, 1 and 2 work fine, I was able to play and complete both games, ME3 however wont start up, just kind of flickers my screen and goes back to the game selection screen. I don't get an error pop up or anything. I really want to finish the series, any help?

Hey @dnolan8, I've moved your post over to the Mass Effect section of the boards. Can you give the steps in this thread a try to see if they help out with your situation as well?

Let me know how that goes!
