ME3 PC - Game crashes on loading screen after Silver Coast Casino: Infiltration

This mission felt a little buggy throughout anyway - the gaps in Brooks asking to speak to you were way larger than I remember, even with mingling. But then, consistently, the game crashes back to the launcher every time I complete the casino mission. It fades to black, goes into the loadscreen, fades to black again, and crashes. I have no idea how I could even begin to get around this bug, nevermind why it's happening.

Thankfully I save religiously so I can back out of the Citadel DLC, but having so much content locked off by this feels bad.

@puzzlezaddict No dice, unfortunately. It downloaded four files (not sure how to tell which), but it still breaks when I finish that mission. It does do something different now, in that it hangs infinitely while playing ambient noises rather than crashing, but the effect is the same.

Attaching my dxdiag to this reply. I'm currently on my speaker audio output on the back of the tower, which runs to headphones. I've got two other options that I'll check real quick and edit this post to mention if swapping to them changes anything.

EDIT: I have no earthly idea how you called it, but swapping to an output source that isn't even connected to anything (Realtek HD Audio), as opposed to my speaker output or NVIDIA HD Audio (which are connected to my headphones and monitor respectively) got me past the hang point. So... Thank you, even though I am utterly baffled as to how you figured this was the problem.

@SuperSemantic  It was actually your comment:

that made me think of the sound output.  So I figured why not try using a different output and see what happens.

If you'd like to troubleshoot this issue further, i.e. get your original device working with ME, let me know.  Otherwise, it sounds like you have a good-enough workaround.
