Mouse pointer position problem

I have ME 3 and after the startup screen shows up the mouse pointer disappears.  You can move the mouse around no mouse pointer.  The mouse works but the pointer does not show up. How can I make changes or selections if the mouse pointer is not there?

    In your Windows control panel, make sure you have disabled mouse/pointer trails.
