My fixes for Mass Effect loading problems(opens, black screen, kicks to desktop)

After several hours of reading forum posts and attempting several suggested solutions, here is what I did to fix the error. Very simple and worked for the trilogy. Running an i7, NVIDIA 760 ti, 8gb ram, windows 7 64-bit.

1. Open the config tool for the game in OriginGames/..../Binaries/...config.exe
2. Open video tab.
3. Select the resolution that matches what your graphics card is displaying your desktop at.
4. Close Origin and open.
5. Open the game and enjoy.

Never thought the solution was that simple for me, tried uninstall/re-install, repair game, running compatibility mode, run as administrator etc. to no avail. Hope this helps, may have already been posted, but after reading several other "fixes" thought I would start a new thread.
