i completely turned off my anti virus, (and firewall to be sure) and restarted my computer, tried to launch and got the same issue ☹️
Most Anti-Virus automatically launch and come back online if you restart your computer. So if you turned off the Anti-Virus and then restarted your PC, then likely it was fully functional again when you tried to play. So you either have to disable it and try, whitelist it and try or in some cases people have said they had to uninstall it to get the game to work(which I think they just didn't know how to properly whitelist the game, saves and sometimes Origin as well).
As @holger1405 posted, a strict clean boot can help figure out the issue, as there are several programs that can cause this issue, and Anti-Virus is simply the most common.
i have gone through and completely white listed every program and file related to origin, EA desktop, ME:A, literally anything i could find, and nothing has helped in the slightest.
like i stated previously, i am at a complete loss, i have done everything i can think of and cannot find what is preventing certain EA games from launching. and EA support team can't either ☹️ very upsetting.

Did you performed the clean boot?
- 5 years ago@holger1405 yes i did. i'm wondering if it has anything to do with AMD's Radeon program, which i don't know if i can disable without messing up my PC.
i can't launch ME:A, so i decided to see if i can launch any other games from the EA Desktop to be sure, so i downloaded Titanfall 2, Sim City, Sims 4 and Apex Legends, and all launched fine without a hitch.
strange the issue seems to arise only from select games.- holger14055 years agoHero+
- Hit Windows key and X.
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered.
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
- If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key and X again.
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command Prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes. >ENTER.
- Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.

i know I'm very late on this issue, but like you , Andromeda worked fine for me until I installed the MELE edition and then andromeda does exactly what your pc is doing so you're not alone, I just feel like EA, is so incompetent. Like, I have to make sure to launch Origin when playing Madden but when playing mass effect have to make sure to close out of origin and open the EA desktop. I mean, come on here EA. What kind of crap is this? Can you imagine Bethesda or Ubisoft have two different launchers for different games and you have to log in and out of the correct one every time? NO i cannot because they are decent companies.

unfortunately i never solved the issue and never got to replay it, i still glance at it every time i browse game pass games and wonder if i can figure it out this time, but ultimately i gave up.
it’s a shame that this game (which most people hated) is losing playability so people are unable to play it/replay it and potentially change their opinions. especially with a new title in the works.

I have this issue as well and no way to resolve it. I feel like they just made it so noone can play it to avoid any further hate coming upon it.
