I have the MELE on Steam. Several months ago, the EA app started to become involved with launching - which slowed the launch down but I could still play. Now, I can't even launch the game. I run the game from Steam as usual, an EA app window pops up, closes, then the full EA app window comes up and just sits there. Then I try to launch MELE from inside the EA App window, and it throws it back to Steam and still won't launch. I literally can't play the game! I've cleared the "EA App" cache already but that didnt help things. Others are posting in the Steam forums about this same issue. Does anyone know how to get this to work? UPDATE: now I get a Microsoft login request in the EA App window??? What the???? The game is not launching. You can't have a product on Steam that is not working.Literally the game is not opening at all.REMOVE the need to open the EA App to launch a game that you brought to another platform.It's absolutely ridiculous. If I wanted to use the EA app I would have gotten the game in that platform.

@holger1405I thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate that you are trying to help and I will try your solutions, but I have my doubts. If either of these steps are necessary, then there is something wrong with the app. Neither of these steps are user friendly let alone reasonable. The most egregious thing to me is the complete lack of acknowledgement that there is a problem with this new app. At least tell your customers that you know that there is an issue and that you are working to resolve it (This is not directed @EA_Shepard, who has at least tried to be helpful and I'm sure is doing their job to the best of their abilities).I played this game for nearly 420 hours in the two years I have owned it without any problems until the release of the EA app. I see there are currently over 4,000 people who ARE able to play this game as I type this, since that is what Steam reports in the games Community tab, but sadly not me and not many others. Did all of those people have to create a brand new windows user account in order to play the game? Did all of those people have to spend days scowering message boards trying every possible solution? I love this game but this experience has turned me into one of the many people who loathe EA and their business practices. I am frustrated and angry with no recourse available to me and I will remember that when considering my future purchases.

I managed to make it work but this is beyond ridiculous.You have to install Origin (not EA App). And it must be a very specific version of it. Then disable the option to automatically update the app because you want to start at a specific version of Origin. You don't want it to update to the point of prompting you to switch to the EA App.With that specific version Origin I could finally launch the game. This happens for other games like Dragon Age Inquisition, too.It's absolutely pathetic. I can't believe EA abandons their products this way. The best solution would be to just release the game on Steam and REMOVE the need of the EA App or any secondary launcher.

I downloaded Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Steam but it will not open. When it boots up the EA app, I'm met with the message "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later." I was gifted the game during September 2022 and it has been doing this since then. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and the EA app. I've unconnected and reconnected my steam and EA accounts. I've tried verifying the files of Mass Effect LE, but to no avail. Please help.
By the way, when I go into the EA app, it says I've not downloaded Mass Effect LE. (even though I have) I've downloaded another EA game from steam (It Takes Two) and that is listed as downloaded. I can open it from steam or the EA app; It works perfectly fine. I'm only having issues with Mass Effect LE specifically. Thanks...

Thank you for the posts, and sorry about any frustrations encountered. Could you check on the game's installed location and check if the game is set to launch as administrator? If it is, can you uncheck this and try again?

You can check for this by right-clicking the game's app and choosing Properties, then check in the Compatibility section.

I just installed the new EA launcher. Now, anytime I try to launch Mass Effect Andromeda using Steam the EA launcher tells me "Your game failed to launch an error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."

I have the same issue with Mass Effect Legendary Edition - many people are having issues with all EA App games from Steam....

Try to repair the game.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)

(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

Then make sure the "In-game overlay" inside EA app is enabled. (EA app menu > Settings > Application) > Test.
