[PC] Mass Effect Andromeda Launching Issue
I bought ME Andromeda over a year ago on Steam and launched/played with no issues when Origin was still in use, but since the forced switch to EA play I have been unable to launch the game.
The game was already installed on my PC before the EA app was installed and it did kind of register that as it was listed under installed games but the game would never launch and I would get the error message about an incompatible version being installed and to uninstall it to launch the game. Eventually I did find a fix for that - uninstalled game and EA app and made sure all files of the game were deleted from PC.
Now though, when I reinstall the game it doesn't seem to register as installed on the EA app (It's still listed under uninstalled games and that if I want to install to do so through Steam... which I have!!). When I tried to launch from Steam anyway it redirects to EA app and I immediately get the "Failed to launch game. An error on our end caused the launch to fail" message. When I try launch from the desktop icon, I get the same error message. I even tried launching game from the files/folder but I get an error message stating "You don't have access. This title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again". I don't have another account, and I definitely bought and downloaded the game myself...
It also is only an issue with this particular game as I have other games that were already installed on Steam that launch through EA just fine (like MELE for example) and I've since installed another game through Steam that again launches via EA no problem.
I've already tried to fix the issue by;
- Uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and EA app (several times)
- Ensured game files all verified
- Clearing app cache
- Safe boot and Clean boot
- Checking Windows is up to date
- Chatting with EA on live chat
I don't know what else I can try? The person on live chat eventually said they had reported the issue but basically there isn't anything I can do and it's a known issue. Is anyone else having this issue? And if so, how did you fix it? And please dumb it down for me as I'm not very tech savvy!
Or if it is an EA app issue somehow then how long does it usually take before it's fixed?
Then deinstall the game with Revo as well and reinstall it after restarting the system.
