I Had The Same problem
"Hey, you can try adding the mods one by one, and see if there's a particular mod or combination of mods that's leading to the issue. "
Its not mod/s. You are searching in wrong direction. Look at topic below. Many users like me never had mods just first fresh install Andromeda and we cant start it either !!
(I dont have ANY mods managers installed on my computer) . Try to focus on the root problem (your foulty last path probably) - not mods. Its shame that problem exist from last year!! Almost one year and still not resolved Can anybody imagine that ?
@Szybki_Mis; Errrr... @EA_David wasn't the one with the problem.
And this topic is specifically for problems when using the Frosty Mod Manager. As for the game not starting for you, do you have AVG or Avast anti-virus?
Try this:
- Go to your game directory (Normally at ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Andromeda" and delete the "bcrypt.dll" file and the "ModData" folder.
- Then go to your "FrostyModManager\ThirdParty" folder and delete the "bcrypt.dll".
- reboot
- test the game.
If the game works after you did this you can try to re-download the "bcrypt.dll" from the nexusmods page of the Mod Manager (important) and put it in the same folders as mentioned above.
- Anonymous8 years agoYou saved me! Thank you
- Anonymous8 years agoThank you so much.. was worried I was gonna have to do the full 40 gb install...i had the same issue as the guy who made the thread...thank you for the time saver
i can not find the bcrypt file im supposed to download and put in the folders mentioned above. would you please give me the link or explain where to find them? i am using frosty for battlefront 2
I doubt that this is the same problem.
Go to the Nexus\Star Wars battlefront 2 page and look under the "Utilities" section.
I can not find the "Utilities" section (for Battlefront II)

Did all that but right now when I launch Andromeda through Frosty all I am getting is a Black Screen
What did you do specifically?

Did everything in your post but when I launch Andromeda with Frosty all I am getting is a black screen
Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click MEA > Repair)
Make sure no files I mentioned are left in the game folder > Test.

So delete the Moddata and the bcrypt items before repairing?
Yes.

Tried everything and still getting a black screen. I had no problem with Windows 7 but after switching to 10 the game isn't loading with Frosty
Are you sure that the game is completely vanilla now? All Frosty files are gone?
If so this might be a problem unrelated to Frosty.
Did the game run before you used Frosty?
Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply.
If you use Windows 7 also go to your Reliability monitor > Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time and copy and paste or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in the new Window > hit “ENTER” and look if it has entries for the game you have trouble with.
If yes double click at the last entry for the game executable, copy the info to the clipboard, and save it to a text file. You can attach the DxDiag text file you created (and the “Reliability monitor” text file as well) to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.

I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10. When I had Win 7 the game ran fine with Frosty Mod Manager but after switching to Windows 10 launching it with Frosty only gives me a black screen

I found the problem, it was one of the mods for the loading screens. After removing the mod I am not getting the black screen again
After downloading Frosty I tried opening game with mods, but didn't work. Tried all the the steps you posted but still nothing, and even Origin won't even open to menu, ti crashes when opening. Help will be much appreciated
The mod manager should not influence Origin at all, so first I would focus on getting Origin to run.
Did you removed the mod?
I'm just going to jump in here and ask for a little help. I'm trying to use the frosty mod manager with Mass Effect Andromeda but there doesnt seem to be a bcrypt.dll in either the game directory or the mod manager third party folder. I've tried using the latest version of the frosty manager to launch the game but all that happens is that it builds the ModData folder and doesnt launch the game.

In newer versions of the Mod manager the "bcrypt.dll" seems to be replaced with the "CryptBase.dll"
I myself still use a older version of the ModManager (1.0.5.5) with the "bcrypt.dll" present.
Did you tried to run Frosty as Administrator?
Did you tried the "bcrypt.dll" from the Nexus mode page of Frosty? > Put it in the "ThirdParty" folder?
