Re: Importing Mass Effect 2 DLC to Steam

@KeenJin

That is a very good question.

It was possible to do that as long as BSN was online, but whether it works now, after BSN has been dropped is not clear.

If it don't works you may need to redeem the Steam CD key at Origin and reinstall the game with Origin.

    Bleh, I'm guessing this mean that I'm losing my saves... Q.Q

    Back to ME1, then. After redeeming the keys over at Origin.

    No you won't, the saves are compatible and also stored at the same place for both, the Steam and the Origin version of the game.

    Edit: Make a backup of the "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save" folder if you have to reinstall the game.

    But do me a favour and try it first as you originally wanted. No resident ME Hero can test if it works because we all have the DLCs already.

    Exactly!  We all have the full suite of DLC installed, since we're (obviously) all fanbois and grab that stuff as soon as it's on offer. :eahigh_file:

  • Holger is right, you can copy that folder, move it to a usb stick, format your computer, reinstall the game and drop the folder back into your documents\bioware folder once again and they will all show up as they should.

    I do this all the time for Mass Effect and from DAO to DA2.
