    Here.

So you use Windows 7 without SP1? Here you can find a guide to install SP1. If it still don't works after you installed SP1, report back.

  • clicked the link you sent, well i have to say.. ive been trying install SP1 for how many times?..

all step in there said my brain i did that but didnt work..

trust me i had install different SP1 with KB n number.. and trying other around to clean install it and etc

been trying uh well i say everything.. all step im been follow for how to install SP1 blah blah blah for like many times

i want to give up over SP1, ive checked when last time SP1 wanted to install from Windows update it was 2012 i think or 2013

it said it failed to install.. so i have no idea whats up.. so don't tell me to do that and etc

tell me frist about why trial works?

Because the full game needs VC++ 2015 and that is only compatible to Win 7 SP1.

That the game needs SP1 on Windows 7 is also clearly stated in the system-requirements for MEA.

If you lost your Windows disk you can download a Windows 7 ISO directly from MS. [Link]

That way you can reset your current Windows 7 installation or preform a clean installation of your system.

Possibly something in your installation is corrupted...What I would do:

    1. open a command prompt (admin), type chkdsk c: /f

It'll say that the volume can't be blocked and if a scan should be scheduled for the next reboot, answer yes, reboot and let it scan

    2. open a command prompt (also admin), type sfc /scannow

It'll take a while but it will check your installation for corrupted files, if there are any it'll download them

    3. If sfc cannot solve something or report any error, you can try dism... command prompt and type dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    4. Try again to install SP1

Now, the not-so-good part: I am not 100% sure that W7 have all these tools (chkdsk and sfc it does have, not so sure about dism)...

Regarding why the trial works, probably bioware didn't recompile it using a newer or different version of the C++ runtime from patch to patch, but I'm not a programmer...

    Cheers!

@holger1405 I have SP1 installed and I have all same issues, though it seems that I have some error with missing windows7_msu_x64 as whenever I try to repair, uninstall/reinstall, clean boot I have the same problem and error messages over and over. I don't have any issues with other games and ME:A worked fine before the first patch, and the latest patch fails to install.

Game doesn't start at all after 1.07 update. Win10 x64 with Nvidia drivers fully updated. Such a bummer...

PS: what's really frustrating is the lack of any log or error message. How are we suppose to troubleshoot this?

  • @Kendhor

Launch Origin, Go Offline in the dropdown menu.  Launch Andromeda and it should come up and ask you to activate using your email and password for EA account.  Let it come up and exit the game.  Go back to Origin and Go Online, then Launch Andromeda, let me know if it doesnt work.

Thanks, I already tried that several times, never asked me to activate.

    @Henshin0101

    You could try this:

Go here > choose your language > click at "Download" and select the "Windows6.1-KB976932-x64.exe" file.

    Install the "Windows6.1-KB976932-x64.exe" > reboot.

Now go here and download the VC++ 2015 package. (both versions vc_redist.x64.exe & vc_redist.x86.exe) >  Run the installer > choose "Repair" > reboot
