Sell or dismantle weapons/armors

I dismantle them because there's little I want to buy, and the materials aid development.

but money can buy materials you specifically need, isn't this right?

You  could end up screwing yourself over selling a weapon with an augmentation on it.   Meanwhile dismantling gives augmentations back + materials.    There's not even much point to using credits to buy anything other than unique things like Nomad paints, consumables,  models,  ect.     Research and Development is better. 

I guess it depends on whether you want to craft or buy new weapons. I crafted all my gear, so in that case dismantling is better (I didn't buy a single weapon in my playthrough). If you want to buy your gear, you could sell your spare gear for the extra cash.

I sell anything that can't be dismantled for materials to craft N7 armor.

Decide what you want to craft. Write down the materials you need.

Take the extra junk and select "dismantle". It will show you what materials it will give you.

If you need the materials,finish the dismantle. If you don't need any of it,cancel the dismantle and sell it.

Use the credits to buy materials.

I want to go biotic and N7 Armor, what weapons do you suggest for a similar built?

I just use the Avenger. Also the Asari sword.

I have beaten the game.  105 hours and here is my experiance with weapons and armors when it comes to crafting/sell/dismantle.  Don't spend points in researching anything other then augments you like.  Unless you found your favorite weapon or armor.  You don't really get enough points to research everything.  Every weapon and armor you can research you can find as loot in the game.  So, if your curious if a certain gun or armor is to your likeing.  Kill things till it drops.  Usually what ever uses that type of weapon drops it.  That way you will know what you like towards the end of the game. 

End game is were crafting really helps.  My armor set dropped from mobs as well as my guns.  They were always the same lv I was so I was not getting under leveled stuff.  When the game was getting close to the end.  That is when I crafted exactly what I wanted.  Crafting will let you do augments to make your stuff better then dropped stuff.

Hope that helps.  Also there is a cryo bonus in AVP that gives you more augments.  Save your last point for that as you won't get enough points to get every AVP bonus.
