Why do PC users not get a regional rollout for game releases?
Can we get an official answer from EA as to why the PC release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a global rollout, instead of regional as it is on console? They can't use the "well, you can fake your region more easily on PC," excuse, as there are users who claim they were able to change their region and start playing the game, some of which have shown screenshots in-game.
It's extremely disappointing, and disheartening, that EA does not care the same for the PC player-base, as it does our console counterparts. Sadly, I doubt we will get any sort of official response from EA, who would rather just sweep PC users under the rug.
If the excuse is that Origin sucks and doesn't support regional releases, then that's still a bad answer, because Steam has had that capability for years. Regional rollouts are 100% the way to go with digital releases, and anything less is offensive to the consumers paying for the product.
I was extremely excited to play the game at midnight Eastern Standard Time, but I have to wait until 11AM, because that's the arbitrary global release time they chose. Talk about anti-consumer.
