Why should they take a luxury vessel to Andromeda? Even if they are no Military ..... it's very unreasonable to waste rescources for something like this. I thought the Tempest is a "Explorer Vesserl"?

For the same reason they never go back and pick up any of the abandoned EOS supplies and there are so many shuttles nobody notices if you "borrow" one.
The benefactor had bottomless pockets? Somehow space aboard ships in the future is no longer a concern. Everybody freaks at the big empty rooms - the first thing I laughed at on the SR-1/2 (and Tempest) is the crazy wide passageways. That is *purely* wasted space that can't even be repurposed.
There are no Elcor on my ship and there is no reason two of them should be able to pass each other in the hall.

true. however if they made the spaces as tight as they should be people would be raging that there's not enough space to move in, and they keep getting stuck behind random crew members. like in skyrim.

Does a Pathfinder know what to do with a dead end?

It is more to cover for the fact that nobody in the future ever puts anything away. While all the strewn around stuff makes great cover for firefights.... I don't ever want to be aboard any future spaceship for emergency or zero gee maneuvers.

I'm more worried about the open, unisex showers and the single toilet.

silly @hurbsterHurbster in the future no one worries about that thing they simply sit on the can while the opposite sex is having a shower :D then again I'm not sure you want to watch drack having a shower if your part of the crew ...
....or be in there when he sits on the can. Was that thing that knocked Aroane out Korko root?
