Like it says, why only 4 b3eds on the Tempest when you have a crew of 8? It was the same on the Normandy, never enough beds for all the crew. They can't all hot-bed it because the are always all awake when you are on the Tempest. Be nice to see one or two of the crew asleep in the bunks...

I think they're just echoing back to Legion and Geth Dreadnoughts n the first series. The Kett have them firing from interior bays - talk about a poorly designed armament system. Who needs pillboxes in space?
Logically there are 4 main crew members for the ship:

Gil
Lexie
Can't go anywhere without a doctor really.
Anyone else is not planned for. Here's the thing though. Presumably the plan wouldn't have been that Ryder does everything by him/herself. So a few extra beds really would've been in order.
I think it would've made more sense to not have the med lab where it is but above in either Jaal or Cora's room really.

But I thought the pathfinder team much bigger - unless there's lots of implanted people running around as optional alternate crewmembers. Murphy beds would fill the gaps, but it's not like space is cramped and they couldn't fit in a bunk for everyone. This is a civilian operation - not a military warship.

On top of that I'm not sure if it was intended for Alec Ryder to begin with. One question I always had is why have 1 Tempest and 4 Pathfinders?
I mean, as Ryder you basically do the job for all Pathfinders but I'm sure they didn't plan on 3 Arks needing to be rescued by the other Ark's Pathfinder. They must've planned at least on having 4 Pathfinders. So why only 1 Pathfinder ship?

Ryder has to bring *at least* two other implants along or you wouldn't have three for missions. Cora is *definitely* coming for theoretical SAM handoff.
I could be mistaken, but I thought I read in conversation there were more 'Tempests", but they somehow got destroyed.

Ahh, I certainly missed that bit of information. I guess with the tv on here, I do miss things here and there. But that does explain it. The first time I read that sentence, I read in mind "not to have the meth lab". Within micro seconds, my brain was saying, "but that's the most important part of the ship". Then the working part of my brain kicked in and I read that sentence correctly. 🙂
You, @VitesseLumiere, you're the submerged guy, right? Dwells in a submarine? Then, how come 100 of you fit on your benches? You have 100 benches or you take turns on 4 as well? Or maybe no one sleeps? Stay alert until the eyes start to bleed then are sent back to the surface to patch and be sent back in?

Perhaps the Med bay is there cause the way to enter the tempest after a mission via the ramp would leads to where they store the Nomad. If someone is injured the med bay would be more accessible on the lower level.
