Will proper ultrawide support be added in future patches?

I was somewhat disappointed to find that only the gameplay sections actually play in full ultrawide. I remember this being one of the main points advertised about MELE before release; and when you play for the story having a large chunk played out with pillarboxes is frustrating. I'm really enjoying the game otherwise and really happy to see a patch come out so quick, so I'm sure we'll see more updates, just worried I'll end up pillarboxed forever.

I've talked to the modding community and there is some people looking into it; but I remember the OG version of ME3 never ended up working right with ultrawide; would be really nice to see the developers acknowledge this.

(P.s I don't understand game modding and the amount of work already being done on MELE already is incredible and I appreciate you; I still fully recommend the game, and am so happy It's finally here 🙂 I'm just voicing my opinion as a hopeful 21:9 person.)

  • Hi All,

Is there going to be a fix, or better "a keeping a promise" on a 2021 release on PC, for Ultrawide / Mouse Acceleration support/fix?

I am holding off for a refund on steam as I own already the original with all DLCs and graphically with mods still hold off fantastically well and above all Ultrawide support is better than this remaster as it stands today.

I appreciate there is a mod for ultrawide for LE, however if I have to mod this game I see little value in spending £54 for it as bugs still there, and something so simple is implemented in a day by a single person but a multi million dollars company cannot do the same nor care, considering they said it would have been implemented natively, it is 2021 not 2000.

If you are a toxic abusive fan keep scrolling 😉 I like the series too however this port (as that's what it is) is sub par, also the response from EA is sub par, a Day One patch released 3 days, 10gb and fixes are near to nothing, they said they used mods as base to build upon however ultrawide support and mouse support was better with the mods, both are also among the most downloaded mods of all time.

I am keeping an eye on social and on here however I see EA does not care a bit about it, no confirmation on what they are going to fix, typical I would say...

  • Flawless widescreen now has a plugin that fixes the whole MELE trilogy! You can also adjust FOV with it.

Sure and I buy a REMASTER for then having to mod it on something that was put as feature?

Game is sold a full price and the latest episode is 10 years old circa, sold as remaster, there is absolutely no way anyone should install a mod for something so basic on PC even more so in 2021, the originals were console ports, this does not justify another bad console ports with that price tag.

I use flawless screen with the original, fine, no one should spend £54 and having to fix what EA could not do despite clearly stating FULL ultrawide support, that's not really full isn't it? Also if I have to mod it, considering bugs not resolved and way more bugs introduced, it is way better to play the original as metium offer texture that are sometime better and other times marginally below this remaster, so all in all is a win win.

So I appreciate you wanting to be helpful however no, that's not an option... the only option if they do not fix it is refund it and purchase it when is 50% or more off.

  • One of the main reasons I purchased the legendary edition was because of the promised full ultrawide support for 21:9 and beyond displays.

I am rather disappointed that the game doesn't support the ultrawide format in cutscenes and most importantly during conversations as the black piller boxes on the side really kill the immersion and take you out if the experience as mass effect has always had a focus on its rpg and dialog my question is

1 will the black letterboxing be fixed on the ingame conversations as its not pre rendered and in game.

2 will the cinematics be updated to fill the screen.

If not then that is false advertisement and rather poor from bioware

    @gdidodds

I don't know what Bioware is planning but I would assume that they would have added it from the start if that would be something they wanted to do.

Flawless widescreen is a viable workaround, installed in 2 minutes and works out of the box.

If you don't want to use it, you either play the game as it is or refund.
