Chef's Table Task Cannot Complete

I have made over 10 tables for the chef.  I have used ALL the required essences to paint exactly 4/4 of both green and red apples.  I have made tables using in excess of the 4/4 requirement. I have tried everything.  The completion chime goes off when I meet the 4/4 requirement.  So telling me that I am done. However when I give it to the chef, he asks me, were there no green apples in the forest? Oh I should have mentioned that.  

I am literally at a standstill and unable to proceed.  I've logged out and back in.  Other than starting a whole new game and trying the entire sequence over, I don't know what to do.

Any suggestions as to what I am missing?
