In reference to point #1, I agree with the side scroll in houses thing being slow, it's not intuitive either. For those having troubles, you have to just use your mouse while holding an object and move it all the way to the side of the screen the direction you want the screen to go. It's a holdover from the Wii where you would point the remote at the screen to move around in houses.
BearableCookie Ah... and another issue I've ran into is that when you pick up an object in build/edit mode, there's no way to cancel that action. You can only move the item or delete it, (which lead to me having to remake houses a few times already).
