Fan Feedback: A New Underground & Heat Era for Need for Speed

Hello EA / Need for Speed Team, I am a passionate long-time Need for Speed fan. I especially love Need for Speed Underground, Underground 2 and Need for Speed Heat. This is not meant as a full game pitch, but as fan feedback and a wish from someone who truly loves this franchise. In my opinion, Need for Speed has the chance to start a completely new era. Modern consoles like the PlayStation 5 and high-end PCs are now powerful enough to bring the street racing atmosphere to a much higher level than before. What made Underground and Underground 2 so special was not only the racing. It was the tuning culture, the night atmosphere, the music, the street scene, the feeling of building your own car and becoming part of an underground world.

Need for Speed Heat also had a great idea with legal daytime events and illegal night racing with police pressure. My wish for a future Need for Speed would be a modern mix of Underground, Underground 2 and Heat, but with its own new story and identity. The player could run a legal tuning workshop during the day. During the day, everything is official: legal races, customer cars, tuning jobs, car culture and building reputation. But when the evening and night arrive, the same workshop becomes a legendary underground tuning location. The player could organize illegal races, tune cars for the street scene, build a crew and become the leader of an underground racing movement. A crew system would be amazing. The player could recruit drivers, mechanics, scouts or other characters, build trust with them and lead the crew through the story. This would make the game feel more personal and emotional.

The tuning should also feel deeper and more realistic. Car parts should not only change numbers on a menu. Every part should have a clear effect:

- Exhaust systems should change sound and performance

- Turbochargers should affect power and acceleration

- Suspension should affect handling and grip

- Weight reduction should affect speed and control

- Tires should matter for grip, drift and rain

- Brakes, gearbox and engine parts should make a real difference

This would make tuning feel closer to real life and give every car its own personality. The open world should also feel truly open. Not only a small limited racing map, but a large living world with city streets, highways, industrial areas, mountain roads, tunnels, parking garages, legal race locations and hidden underground meeting points. There could be legal races during the day and illegal races at night. The player could choose how to build reputation: clean racing, underground racing, crew events, police escapes or special story missions. The police should feel realistic, difficult and dangerous again. They should use roadblocks, helicopters, tactical driving, undercover cars and smarter strategies. Escaping them should feel intense and rewarding. A darker story would also fit perfectly: rival crews, corrupt cops, secret cooperation with police officers, betrayal, illegal events, pressure on the workshop and the risk of losing everything. For me, Need for Speed is more than just racing. It is atmosphere, tuning, street culture, risk, freedom, music, cars and emotion. I truly believe Need for Speed could become the king of street racing games again if it returns to its strongest roots, but uses modern technology and a deeper open-world structure.

Thank you for keeping this franchise alive. I hope the future of Need for Speed brings back the feeling that made so many fans fall in love with the series.
