Car Class tuning

How would the car class be determined, would we have to pick a class before tuning or will our tuning determine which class it falls into?

Personally i would prefer the latter, let us tune it our way and it will tell us which class it is. also if they do it this way they should give you hints how to tune it to a particular class

This was on the need for speed page:

"Car class is determined at the point of purchase, however not all cars can be every class. The freedom to choose from each of the five classes is reserved specifically for the Derelicts, whereas most cars will have 2-3 classes to select from."

Hmmm , well why couldn't we remove the derelicts parts and start over with another class  ? I sure hope we can do more then one build on a specific car . I mean we could in 2016 , just remove all parts except or with wheels and start from scratch. Fingers crossed again .

As already said by the developers you will need to choose the Car class before you start tuning it to said class. Works just like The Crew , It just wont make sense to build up a Drag class and then throw it to the Off-Road class by mistake , If you still dont belive me you can read this Article by Need For Speed.

''Once you’ve completed a Derelict project you’ll have the option to convert it into a drivable car. More importantly you’ll be given the choice of turning it into one of the five car classes.''

I know this isnt really confirmed but they are talking about turning it into one class from the given five before they even talk about tuning and ranking up your car. it makes the most sense and im sure they will confirme this in Gamescom , Hope I cleared a few things for you 🙂

  • Understand that and i believe you my friend. I mean lets say i get the 55 Chevy, then i build it for drag and run it in the drag class. Then i decide i want to remove everything from the car back to stock, build it runner class and then use it in the runner class. I get that one cant use the drag car in a off road race class. I guess since its a "infinite" garage then its not a deal breaker. Its more of a curiosity thing. 🙂

"Once you’ve completed your Derelict the original stock version will become available at one of the dealerships. For example, you turn your Ford Mustang 1965 into an off-road animal but want to add a race version to your collection? Head to the dealership that specializes in classic cars, hand over your cash and the car is yours."

So only for Derelicts: You'll have to finish your superbuild, in T3. Once it's finished, you can buy stock models and tune it in any tiers/class you need. I don't think you can remove everything because superbuild has to be done entirely before using it, so can't stop the project until the Monster is born.

  • Ahhh , ok i got it. Well that works for me. As long as i can have more then one version of the car i,m a happy camper !! . Four 55 bel airs sitting in my garage :eahigh_file:

@anti-loser1 Back up to page one...I made this clear to the forum already.

However, thank you for helping some of the new folk who skipped over page one to read my first reply to this topic.
