Need for Speed: Most Wanted (ps3) - Can’t access multiplayer

Hello,

Prior to last week I could access multiplayer for Need for Speed: Most Wanted for ps3 just fine. However as of Saturday October 12th 2024 I can’t access the multiplayer. I won’t connect when I launch the game or when I try to connect while in game.

When I try to connect to online I get the following message “You must sign in to PlayStationNetwork and the EA server in order to access online features of this title” and Error code:1f4. Despite the fact I am logged into PlayStation Network and can play other games online. I have asked several other people across different countries and they say they have the same issue.

Here is a list of things I have tried to fix the problem:

1. Delete and reinstall the game

2. Rest router

3. Restart console

4. Set a custom DNS for network settings

5. Unlinking and relinking my PSN and EA account. Note: this caused me to have a new issue ; error code 193. I had to make a new EA account and link my PSN to the new account to fix this issue

6. Delete local save data

7. Connected to phone hotspot

8. Contact EA support chat. They told me to make this post.

Due to the fact that many other players are experiencing this issue it seems likely to me that this is a server problem. However I am grateful for any help to how I can resolve the issue.

    Hey @MOST_RECKLESS

To confirm with that specific error code I know removing the demo (if you have it installed) has helped others in the past.

If not, we might be running into an account issue, in which case you will want to reach out to our support to take a look at your account.

Hi @pikaopas_2, Is there possibly another profile to test on your PS3 to see if it can access MP?

  • Hi @EA_Illium, so when I originally got the issue I tried with several alternate account but that did not work. I tried yesterday and I can now access multiplayer with my alt and not with my main.

One thing I tried when I got the issue was to unlink and relink my PlayStation network account. This gave me a different error code: 193. To fix the issue I made a new EA account (pikaopas_2). However I keep getting the error 1f4. People I have talked to and my alt account can now connect but not my main PlayStation account.

I have now tried to reconnect my PSN and old EA account but I keep getting the error 193 now instead.
