Need for speed rivals two accounts

I've been playing need for speed rivals (Purchased on steam) and recently got it for my brother but now when I'm playing and he wants to join it boots me from the game and vise versa he also has the game on steam. both of our accounts are on different steam profiles & EA accounts both not linked to each other. Only on the same network
