NFS Deluxe crashes on my 8GB RAM/2GB ATI 6970M iMac 27" Windows 10 machine

Hi,

I am trying to run Need For Speed Deluxe edition on my iMac 27" late 2011, running Windows 10 - bootcamp, 2GB Ani Radeon 6970M video card, which runs all other versions of Need for Speed successfully and smoothly.

This one however gets to the menu, when pressing "play", the loading bar with spinning car-wheel will complete about 2/3rd of total and then crash when in full screen with a DirectX error (as attached) - or when in Windowed mode, just simply stop.

Repairing the game will make the bar load up to about 80% (a bit further) but actually still crash.

I have enough memory in the machine (8GB) and the video card should be powerful enough.  Tried various ATI drivers, including the latest (15.201.1301) and the included windows 10 driver. Both give the same result.

I also tried lowering the "performance" clock speed to about 100Mhz under the default rate, to no avail. (it doesn't break other games either).

~help~

    Hi,

The Radeon 6000 series has been moved to legacy status by AMD - this means that the cards in the series no longer receive driver updates. Combined with the speed of the GPU's, it makes them incompatible to run Need for Speed.
