Product: Need for Speed Heat
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Summarize your bug after playing the game for at least 7 hours, it crashed and it seems as i have lost all progress, decided to look at the save files on the console and it seems that it is still the file is still there but there is no way to access it as when loading the game it forces me on the beginning
What car were you using? volvo 242
Was the car your own build or downloaded from the in-game community? Personal Build
What was the last event you played? last thing i did was build a car in the garage
Was it a day or a night event? Day Event
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? play the game until it crashes
What happens when the bug occurs? it removes acces to save data as there is no save select
What do you expect to see? a save select button in the next game
honnestly just want my progress back and to know if its possible to get it back
I do believe I have found a solution to get your progress back.
Steps to fixing this issue -
- Power down your PS4
- When powering up your PS4. Hold down the power button until your console beeps for a second time. It will bring up a safe mode menu
- Connect your PS4 controller to the console with the USB Charging cord that you receive with the console. Press the PS button
- A menu selection will come up with a few different selections. Go down to the "Rebuild Database" option and select "yes". Your console will then go through the process of rebuilding your database. DO NOT SHUT OFF THE PS4 DURING THIS PROCESS OR YOU WILL MESS UP YOUR ENTIRE HARD DRIVE!!!!
- After your PS4 is done performing the rebuild database operation. Go back into NFS Heat, and select "Solo Session" in the main menu. Once you are inside of the garage in the game. Back out to the main menu
- Once you are at the main menu. Select the "online session" option, and a prompt will pop up on the screen where it's going to say that your local inventory doesn't match the one online. It will also ask if you want to upload your local inventory. Select "Yes", and load into an online session.
- Once you are in an online session all of your progress should be back.
I do believe that the main underlying issue to the entire problem that you're encountering is data corruption. There's an autosave prompt in this game that goes on at the worst times where the game could crash. I really do hope that the devs at Ghost will give us the option to shut that off because it's causing too many issues at this time. It's also a similar issue I kept running into on the PS3 with NFS MW 2012. If you didn't allow the game to save even if the game froze. You would lose all of your progress. Which in turn would cause you to perform the rebuild database prompt on the PS3, and then all of the progress would be returned. I actually can't count how many times I had to perform that action on that game which was extremely frustrating.
I really do hope that a more permanent solution is included in the next update.
Cheers!

Same thing happened to me. Power went out and corrupted my save file. Had level 50 rep and a garage full of cars. Lost everything. Such a bummer the game doesn't back up data to EA's servers or cloud storage automatically. 100+ hours instantly gone. No more EA for me
Imma try it and see if it works I did the same u did left the garage with a new Ferrari I didn’t even get to drive yet and the game crashes Dj I just brought it and everything deleted
Same here, just happened to me as of 6-27-2020 this is still an issuee! Just hit REP level 50 got the regara or whatever the fastest car is called and my power went out right after I finished putting 8+ hours into that cars wrap alone. Corrupted save caused me to lose not only the time it took to finish the game and hit level 50, but also the dozens of hours I sunk into customizing all my wraps. At least a hundred hours of gameplay gone in the blink of an eye. Such a shame this has been an issue since release and it's still not fixed. EA is officially on my * list, won't be buying anything from them in the future.
This *fix* does not work. What WOULD work is if EA actually gave a f@ck about their consumers and fixed the issue already. Add another company I'll be avoiding when it comes to purchasing. First Madden now this, damn shame
