Solved

NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered crashes on launch.

Win 11, mordern beefy system, up to date drivers.

The game opens and crashes immediately.

I tried compatability troubleshooting, admin rights, ingame overlay off, i installed the dx and vc installers and tried everything i found on google.

Any other solutions?

    Hi @Moerker

Can we try the following if you have not?

    Thanks!

  • Topic Title:
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered crashes on “Press Space” screen with T300 wheel connected

    Message:
Hello, I am facing a serious issue with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

The game launches normally, loads the intro screens, but when the message appears to press Spacebar (or Enter) to continue, it freezes for a few seconds and then closes by itself, without showing any error message.

    Important details:

My wheel is a Thrustmaster T300, which has always worked with this game in the past.

The problem happens only when the T300 is connected to the PC.

If the wheel is disconnected, the game goes past the initial screen without crashing.

I have already tried all possible procedures:

Updated the T300 firmware and drivers (latest version from Thrustmaster’s official website).

    Repaired the game through Steam.

    Completely reinstalled the game.

Tested running the game both through Steam and the EA App.

Fully reinstalled the drivers for my NVIDIA RTX 4080 graphics card (latest version available).

Set the game executable to always run as Administrator, but the crash still occurs.

Since the game was purchased on Steam, I cannot use the repair function in the EA App.

    Problem summary:
This bug is not related to the wheel or the hardware, as the T300 works perfectly in other racing games and the GPU is fully updated. The error is specific to Hot Pursuit Remastered, which closes immediately after the “Press Space” screen if it detects the wheel connected. I have also found reports from other players with different wheels (such as Logitech G923) experiencing the same issue, which indicates this is a widespread bug in the game.

    Request:
I kindly ask that this bug be forwarded to the development team, as it is impossible to play a racing title without wheel support. I emphasize that the T300 used to work fine before, so this issue was introduced in a recent update or due to a change in the EA App integration.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to a response.
