NFS Most Wanted 2005 widescreen fix

Hello,

Is it possible to install a mod for playing in 1080p resolution, if I have the original version of NFS Most Wanted on the disc?
I installed a widescreen fix from ThirteenAG, but unfortunately, the game won't start. I also tried to run in the Windows XP compatibility mode, but it also did not help (I get an error that there is no CD in the cd-rom).

Am I doing something wrong or is this mod only working on [Edit - Admin.]?
