For the problem of "over the lake", YES! There is definitely a glitch or bug at the jumping point of that event. I am not sure how will this glitch be triggered. I once played the event and finished last with 0 yards although I successfully jumped serveral times.
Also for the event so-called "3 arches jump", it is a drift event instead of a jump event. It is weird as I remember there is a event which players are required to jump at the arches as farthest as possible. May be the lastest patch has mixed something up.
