NFS pro street need to verify ownership

Question

Apparently this seems to be a pretty wide spread issue, because I look this up on google and the entire first page of the search is leading me to different topics here so I thought I would throw mine in to pile on to see if the sheer amount of people posting about this will get EA to get their * together and fix this.

I have Pro street installed on Origin, have had the game since October of 2014, have played it quite a few times and never run into a problem. I formatted my Hard drive the other day just to clean stuff up, have done that several times since buying this game without a problem, and now I get this message "In order to launch this game, please login to the EA Download Manager to verify your ownership, then try again"

It is my understanding that Origin is the EA download manager so I am already logged into that. I have tried registering the key on both Origin and the EA site and obviously that didnt work because, duh, I have I have been playing it for over 5 years like I said. Its Sunday so the EA live chat isnt available for tech support, and from what I am reading in other posts it wouldnt do much good anyway.

So like I said, I am just here to try and pile on and see if the sheer number of people complaining about this will get EA to get there * together, unless someone can tell me about a fix for this that doesnt include contacting them.

I have the same problem and have looked all over the internet for a fix. I have already tried the "install it in the program files x86 folder" and the "put a folder called 'Origin Games' in the program files folder" and none of them have worked. Just adding this message to see if anyone get an answer.

@jmilligan4 I Have the save exact issue. Just got a new PC, wanted to play Need for Speed ProStreet, which I used to play on my windows 10 laptop like, 4 years ago just fine. I redeemed my code through Origin, and downloaded the game but it gives me this error. Mulitple help pages on these forums, but since its an old game, they won't do anything. They dont care. Pinky promise.

I downloaded the game from Origin as is and downloaded a no cd patch form here: http://www.gameburnworld.com/dl/gpf.php?file=NeedForSpeedProStreetv1.0NoDVDFixedexeEng-2.rar. The game works flawlessly.

HI ALL!!!!! I SOLVED THIS PROBLEM BY MYSELF!!!

After installing this game in ORIGIN, just go to your game directory, right click the "nfs.exe", then "properties", then the "security" tab, then "edit" botton, check ALL ticks for ALL groups/user name.

Also in compatibility tab, select "xp sp3" and check "run as admin"

DONE!

Sorry my OS is in Chinese, but I think you can follow easily.
