Play on same team as friends in multiplayer?

The 2010 release of the game (I had the 360 version) by default forced you to play on different teams if you were in a party with a friend.  Is this still the case with the remaster?  For many, this was a much-hated aspect of multiplayer, and in fact, ruined the entire experience for me because I bought the game to play WITH another friend and we always ended up on different teams.

    yeah same for me and my friend, it's up in the air if you get on the same team.  Also, once you are on different teams, the team switch is always the same, and you will constantly be on seperate teams.
