Yes! I was about to give up on this, and the answer is so simple! Move accelerator dead zone to the middle in the sensitivity settings. This fixed both my accelerator being stuck and the car not being able to go above 60 or so mph. THANK YOU!
EDIT:
There are several more solutions listed in this thread, I've added them below:
- I had vjoy drivers installed and when I uninstalled them it worked for me.
- UNPLUG ALL your controllers EXCEPT your keyboard and TRY again
-
I had the same problem and could solve it now.
Try checking controller > tuning and make sure that the sliders are in the middle position. For me all of them were completely turned down for some reason.I don't know why this even affects keyboard controls, but it does. Hope it works for you guys too.

I did something reminiscent of what you said.
And thanks worth you suggested some of the works now perfectly.
could easily run 140 km/h when I tested it quite quickly. My settings are.
Accelerator dead zone 100%
Break dead zone 100% - I was playing around last night, and found that if you go into your controller settings (on NFS game) and un map every command for all other devices (keyboard & steering wheel) you can then play the game fine using your controller. I'm using dualshock 4, and this worked for me. Also make sure to turn up your sensitivities, while leaving your dead zones turned down.

This fixed the problem, thanks for you're help. ^_^

Tried setting all to mid, makes the car go in reverse automatically instead.
(toggling the reverse settings on gamepad/wheel changes nothing here either, it just keeps going in reverse).
THANK YOU!

If you guys are using controllers, just try to clear all the key bindings for steering wheel. (Use the same controller button to all the commands for the wheel in the control options menu)
Hope this works for you guys.
That is no soution man, I am playing on keyboard, I and have paid 60€ for normal game, NO FOR TRY THIS * and it will be maybe working...u now what I mean?
try to disconect the controller and play only with gamepad and them disconect the gamepad and playing with keyboard and i have the same problem with the aceleration. And this strats after your last update

Ok I finally just solved my controller problem. Lots of people have been saying that kicking up deadzone to max works. What everybody forgets to mention is that you need to do that also to the RACEWHEEL settings even if you got no racewheel. The RaceWheel options interfere with the pad options. I guess you could do that in the ingame menu but I just went the long way with Notepad++ and edited those options in the PlayerOptions file under mydocuments. Hope that helps
Thanks a lot brother :D Even EA devs cant fix the thing that u've fixed xD

Update:
There is a now a sticky related to issues with Wheels, Controllers and in-game controls:
If you found a solution or workaround that you want added to the sticky, please send me a private message.
Additional solution by @Malikh822, if you are using an Xbox One S controller:
SpoilerMy short term solution is to plug your Xbox One S controller into the computer using Micro USB and downloading "Xbox Accessories" via the Windows 10 app store to update the controller. I was then able to use the controller to play the game, but only when connected via the Micro USB cord. - ApprovedAnonymous9 years ago
After 8 pages of options to try and +3 hours later i give up and i have requested a refund, nothing works,
I've seen that intro movie probably 50 times and i haven't been able to drive normally one time. Try this... worked for me!
"WHEELS" OPTIONS: Unmap ACCELERATE, BRAKE and HANDBRAKE.. and set them with PAD buttons!
Unfortunately PAD is useless on MENU, and specially when you want to add decals i suggest you to remove PAD before...
It's a bit tricky.. but at least we can drive more easily!!

Can confirm! Thank's for this suggestion! Bind all keys to one, so that all are unmaped, and then let just one key maped. Used the "Open Map". Works even for Steam Controller just set Origin launch as Admin, same goes for Steam and then just lauch Origin through Steam. Tricky but it works! 😳😃
Still this isn't how things are suppoused to be... *Edited*

This shouldn't be happening with supported controllers. However, unsupported controllers like the Steam one will require additional tweaking from the players side. What specifically is needed can differ per controller.
Thanks for sharing that it worked for you. And.. please don't call us stupid. ☹️

Yeah of cours I thought about that and after I tried today I stuck in Decals Settings. Couldn't go out had to force close the game... Okay then I went over to try it with a normal 360 controller... No luck either same problems... funny is that it isn't recognized the whole time obviously because the tooltips etc. still use the keyboard mapings until I hit any bumper or whatever. Well now I HAVE TO play it with the keyboard and I suck at it. Unless you guys wanna make me an additional gift for my birthday and send me a Wheel? 🥳

I am also having an issue with my G27 wheel, if I set dead zone for brake to 100% I can easily accelerate, but then cannot brake. So this fixes the constant brake problem many others have had but then I have no control of my car. The issue is that NFS does not recognize that there are two axes (one for accelerate and one for brake). I have confirmed this when I try to manually set the Accelerator and Brake pedals in the game: when I press the brake pedal, the game states I am pressing the Throttle. I have confirmed that the Logitech Profiler is not reporting both on the same axis, and disabled all other profilers. I also notice that another user reported the same problem... Ideas?

What happens if you set the deadzone to ~10% ?
- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoWorked great i unmapped all the steering wheel and keyboard controls and changed my xbox one controller how i wanted. as for the odd buttons its due to the last control you cant unmap on key board and wheel so for last keyboard i set with key board button 1 and for the wheel i used Y since i dont need to change car view so now brake steering nitro ebrake and map all work

Thanks for the extra information, that is much appreciated 🙂
I did notice other players having questions about how to unmap buttons, are you able to shed some more light on what you did that during your steps?

Second, the problem in my game is that at first when i've started playing the game the car all the time handbrake. everytime!!!
After changing the "Wheel" Settings (even i didnt plug any devices like controller or wheel) the handbrake stopped but instead of that the car start to drive backward without stopping!!
I dont think theres any fix for this because i've search all day for solutions but no clue, i've contact your origin support but the fix they brought me is no work.
I've readed all your fixing solutions but still the same bug!!!!
I've sent your guys at the support my things they asked but i dont think they will contact me back because i think you guys at EA lost hope on fixing the game.
I didnt mantion that i've reinstall like 3 times, restart my pc 3 times, tried administer 5 times but NOTHING!
EA take NFS more serious in PC!!
